چکیده

A macro has been developed that allows for automated statistical analyses of particles. It can be used with binary images from any source, and is developed for use with lacustrine, marine, Aeolian, and marine sediments. The macro code is freely available, and runs on open-source software. It has been specially designed to accommodate very small regions of interest relative to particle size, and to produce continuous downcore stratigraphies. The macro runs quickly, requires no user-interaction, is easily modifiable, saves ’raw data’ for algorithm checking and further analyses, and can run in a mode that quantifies cracks and other disturbances on images. The macro allows for rapid analyses of relatively long sedimentary sequences, and provides relevant sedimentary interpretations of transport and depositional processes. Examples of output from two lacustrine sediment records and one marine

Automated Detection of Multiple Sclerosis Lesions Using Texture-based Features and a Hybrid Classifier

Background: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is the most frequent non-traumatic neurological disease capable of causing disability in young adults. Detection of MS lesions with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most common technique. However, manual interpretation of vast amounts of data is often tedious and error-prone. Furthermore, changes in lesions are often subtle and extremely unrepresentati...

Computerize classification of Benign and malignant thyroid nodules by ultrasound imaging

Introduction: Early detection and treatment of thyroid nodules increase the cure rate and provide optimal treatment. Ultrasound is the chosen imaging technique for assessment of thyroid nodules. Confirmation of the diagnosis usually demands repeated fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). So, current management, has morbidity and non zero mortality. The goal of the present study ...

بررسی امکان کاربرد سیستم استنتاج فازی- عصبی تطبیقی (ANFIS) در برآورد بار رسوب معلق بابل‌رود

Sediment load estimation is one of the most important issues in rivers & dam reservoirs management and generally in water projects. Various empirical equations show that proper analytical or empirical method is not suggested for correct estimation of suspended sediment, yet. In the present study, to assessment of closer estimation to actual data of transported sediment in Ghoran Talar station l...

Semi-quantitative segmental perfusion scoring in myocardial perfusion SPECT: visual vs. automated analysis

Introduction: It is recommended that the physician apply at least a semi-quantitative segmental scoring system in myocardial perfusion SPECT.  We aimed to assess the agreement between automated semi-quantitative analysis using QPS (quantitative Perfusion SPECT) software and visual approach for calculation of summed stress  score (SSS), summed rest score (SRS) and summed difference score (SDS). ...

Introduction of proper model of land slide relationship on sediment in GolGol basin system

Extended abstract 1- Introduction       Investigating the relationship between landslides in sediment production in watersheds is one of the most important issues in the management of watersheds. The purpose of this research is to introduce a suitable model for the effect of landslide on sediment load in Gol Gol watershed in Ilam province, with the assumption that the linear relationship betw...
